Andy, you gotta watch The Companion on HBO. It's a contemporary incel movie about fuckable robots that literally pass as humans. I thought about you when I watched it last night.

Fuckable robots will displace many women, as the prices come down. That will be a huge boon for shy and socially awkward men.

When I was young (I’m old now) the bad guys were Indians, as time progressed the bad guys then became Russians, then Arabs, and now less-attractive white guys. Everyone knew the prejudices of Hollywood in each era reflected society at large. Would be nice to see an end to this constant vilifying of a specific race but what are the chances of that?

Well look, there's some truth to that primal female fear, because hot men don't need to rape. It's the ugly losers who get desperate and may eventually snap.

The litany of athletes, businessmen, politicians, and actors that get tripped up with countless sexual assault convictions seem to be a challenge for this point.

Ugly losers tend to die forgotten as they are losers, usually never crossing boundaries as they are trained to not do so from a young age. It is high status successful men that commonly run into the danger of ignoring women’s boundaries as women love to pull them down for them with little trouble.

It's usually more that the high-status guy has a fling with the gal and walks away and then they decide to get revenge when they don't get commitment.

With the low-status guy they simply drive them away in the first place as they're not interested.

I could definitely see opportunistic rape being an issue with ugly losers who snap. But they have to be ambiguous with attractive guys, because they actually want them.

Rape is most common with people the victim knows. Random stranger rape is absurdly uncommon and from someone that “snaps” is even more of an outlier that hits news stories than something to be seriously training yourselves to be wary of.

A guy with a lot of power, money, charisma, etc, absolutely runs into this threat. Sure there are plenty of opportunistic women for this. But I usually put that in the fault of the high status guy that doesn’t know how to keep it in his fucking pants and not chase crazy.

You talk to some of these people or read the stories, even when innocent, they are begging to have trouble. “Oh gee I sleep with women at conferences, bars, clubs, festivals, and work with little to no filter because they throw themselves at me. What was I supposed to do when one of them turned out to be a pyscho”
