Three Russian warships and one nuclear-powered submarine arrived in Havana, Cuba two days ago. Apparently these vessels are equipped with weapons which military experts say “could pose a threat to (US) naval assets in the region.”
Nothing will likely come of this strategic perry on the part of the Kremlin, which almost certainly comes as a response to the US recently giving the Zelensky regime permission to use American missiles to strike at sites within the border of Russia. That is to say, while the move represents an escalation of sorts in Cold War II, it is hardly a new Cuban Missile Crisis situation.
Nevertheless, it causes someone like me to ponder a certain unlikely but still highly intriguing scenario. What if the Russians in fact had in their arsenal a secret weapon, one which enabled them to, let us say, overtake Washington DC?
If, due to the deployment of this secret Russian weapon, the federal government of the United State were effectively immobilized and rendered useless; if the Pentagon were successfully overrun, if all senators, representatives, and their staffs, along with the President, Vice-President, and the entirety of the White House personnel were forced to flee and go into hiding; if the United State’s military command were compromised, outwitted, outgunned, and finally forced to into ignominious surrender; if the elite American financial and political establishment, together with its formidable military-industrial-espionage complex, which has remorselessly toppled numerous regimes across the world over the last century or so—typically under some deeply specious pretext or other— were to suddenly find itself removed from power…
If a generally bloodless coup were to be effectuated, and our nation’s capital were to fall into the hands of our ostensible enemy, would American citizens truly be any less represented in Washington than we current are?
Lest I be misunderstood, I am not arguing that a Kremlin-backed regime would be acceptable as a new ruling class, though honestly, if they were to put the kibosh on the sexualization of children and other domestic atrocities currently being foisted upon us by the current powers-that-be (as they have done in their Motherland), I certainly wouldn’t complain.
What I am saying, however, is that the regime which currently rules over us— the ostensibly “American” regime, that is— is at least as alien to our interests, concerns, inclinations, and values as one propped up by foreign invaders.
It should be clear to anyone who is paying attention, that our “representatives” don’t represent us at all; instead, they exist to do the bidding of the powerful and moneyed interests, who are their true masters. That swamp will not drain itself.
Such would surely also be the case, mutatis mutandis, under a Russian-affiliated regime. In other words, exchanging the Kremlin rulership for the would be a lateral move— neither significantly better or worse— for most of us. In either case, our current crop of habitually corrupt and frequently depraved “betters” would merely be replaced by a new crew of gangsters, scoundrels, and pedophiles.
And whether one likes it or not, that reality is as sobering as it is undeniable.
