Alt-Righter turned neoliberal Colin Liddell to debut talk show on MSNBC
Maddow out, Liddell in!
MSNBC made a startling announcement today: a formerly notorious "Alt-Right" commentator will become the neoliberal network's newest host.
In a striking instance of ironic turnabout, Colin Liddell, whose provocative article "Holocaust Forgetfulness Day" was excoriated by Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC show nearly a decade ago, will soon become Maddow's replacement.
According to sources at the network, Liddell will occupy Maddow's former slot at 9 pm EST, effective possibly as early as next week.
"We wish Rachel the best, of course, but the truth is that she's gone a bit wobbly lately in her support for NATO's proxy war-- uhh, I mean Ukraine's glorious crusade for liberation and independence against the evil fascist sexist racist homophobic Putin regime," MSNBC president Rashida Jones said in a prepared statement earlier today.
"Compared with Rachel, Colin Liddell has undeniably demonstrated a far greater degree of loyalty to the Deep State, the CIA, the military-industrial complex, and the Biden White House.
“Colin has not only expressed abundant and continuous support for the Western political establishment's efforts to fund the Ukraine war effort, he has also tirelessly labored to smear, err, I mean correctly label as a ‘Kremlin shill,’ anyone who objects to the prospect of billions of dollars worth of US taxpayer-funded bombs, rifles, tanks, planes, and grenades being gifted to the regime led by that corrupt dictator, umm, I mean to say, that noble, virtuous president of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenski," Jones declared.
Jones commended Liddell, whom she affectionately titled "the surly Scot," for his "spectacularly splenetic" broadsides against his former compatriots on the dissident Right, nearly all of whom he now labels "Nazitards," "Conspiratards," "closeted homosexuals," and/or "closeted homosexual Nazi Conspiratards."
"Some might call these witless insults, and I suppose they would be right," Jones allowed. "But more importantly, these abusive, self-indulgent rants indicate that Colin has indeed turned his back on his unsavory past in the 'alt right.' Now he enthusiastically embraces the progressive agenda pushed by Western billionaire oligarchs and their corporate media flunkies, which clearly indicates how much he has grown as a person."
Jones also noted that Liddell has demonstrated his thoroughgoing ideological bone fides by consistently labeling opponents of intervention in the Ukraine war as "Nazis," while at the same time refraining from criticizing actual Nazis serving the Ukraine army, such as Right Sector and the Azov Brigade, among numerous others.
"Rhetorically, that subject can be a bit tricky," Jones chuckled, as the gathered press tittered in sympathy, with many nodding ruefully.
Liddell could not be reached for comment, but sources say that he intends to set the right tone in his debut episode by aiding and abetting Antifa’s efforts to destroy lives and by mocking children who are bullied into committing suicide.
Onward, surly Scot!
It's pretty crazy how a decade ago, the original Alternative Right website, "the evil Huffington Post," had contributers like Jack Donovan, Matt Forney, Keith Preston, and Andrew Yeoman. Somehow in ten years, it has turned into a gossipy outlet against an eccentric subculture and all of it's problems. Wasn't the entire point to foster good principles and clarity? It's likely the reason why I moved on to Caleb Maupin and his project of "alt left" communism.
Mr. Liddell was the man who predicted that the next great pandemic would be spread by public restroom hand dryers. That’s a fact. Check it. This was well before Covid! He may have been right about that, too.
